In 2014, the Bristol-born writer and artist Travis Alabanza started performing at underground queer clubs in London. Within four years, not only were they staging formal plays, but they were the youngest person to receive an artist’s residency at the Tate. Alabanza’s latest play, which marks their Royal Court Theatre debut, takes inspiration from those club days. An exploration of workers’ rights unfolds as punks dance and smoke. —Jensen Davis
