The art collector Jens Faurschou didn’t grow up with parents who bought art. He was born on the quaint Danish island of Funen, the country’s third largest, and studied economics in Copenhagen. But during his days as a student, Faurschou loved visiting the Louisiana Museum, and by the 1980s he was traveling to New York, where he made his first art deals. In 2019, Faurschou opened a private museum in Brooklyn in a 12,000-square-foot former warehouse. Currently on view are paintings and sculptures by the icon Robert Rauschenberg, and works by the artists Zachary Armstrong and Curtis Barnes Sr. —Elena Clavarino
