Connoisseurs of serious fun await with eager cochleae the visits from down under of Phillip Johnston, whether for reunions of his antic Microscopic Septet or, as in this case, for gigs by the (overlapping) Silent Six, a band that he created for his Wordless! tours with cartoonist Art Spiegelman but that now stands—indeed swings—on its own twelve feet. —E.E.
