You might not know the name Michael Lawrence Marrow but maybe you know of Phase 2. And you will certainly recognize the work: bright bubble-print letters sprayed on buildings and in tunnels. Born in the Bronx in 1955, Marrow was one of the pioneering figures of graffiti art. He died in 2019, and now ACA Galleries presents a five-decade survey of his work, tracing the development of his distinct visual language and also his later move from two-dimensional to three-dimensional art. —Clara Molot
