“Archaeological discoveries of a distant future” is one of the ways Peter Buggenhout’s sculptural installations have been described. In his art, found objects, discarded materials, even tanned animal guts are worked into complex constructions, towering accumulations. Strange how these discordant compositions make even the most unappealing materials seem beautiful. —E.C.
