Odd Man Out

Jan 18 – Feb 18, 2022
20 Thomas St, New York, NY 10007, United States

Upon entry to the play Odd Man Out, audience members are given headphones and blindfolds. For 65 minutes, they will sit in total darkness. Set on an airplane flight from New York to Buenos Aires, this immersive work tells the story of Alberto Rinaldi, a blind Argentine musician returning home. Pre-recorded audio is pumped directly into your headphones, smells associated with Rinaldi’s memories waft through the theater, and wind and water burst into the space. After a successful October 2019 debut in Argentina, this free-floating show, written by Martín Bondone, has finally landed in Manhattan. —Jensen Davis
