At KGB, a bar off Manhattan’s Second Avenue, the vibe is Marxist. Bright red walls are covered in framed Soviet agitprop posters. In addition to being a place to get dirt cheap beer or a shot of Fernet, KGB is also the site of literary readings. On February 16, Alt Lit’s very own Bonnie and Clyde—Rachel Rabbit White and Nico Walker—will read poetry and prose. Look forward to a steamy evening (Rabbit White is the author of a poetry collection that is cheekily called Porn Carnival) and some provocation (Walker’s debut novel, Cherry, is based on his experiences of being both an Iraq veteran and a bank robber). —Sophie Kemp
