The Venice Architecture Biennale is back! This year’s edition—themed “Intelligens. Natural. Artificial. Collective”—is curated by Carlo Ratti, an architect and engineer. “To face a burning world,” Ratti says, “architecture must harness all the intelligence around us.” Ratti is Italian, with practices in New York and London as well as in Turin; he’s also a professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Two-hundred-and-eighty projects will be on view, including work by Pritzker Prize winners and Nobel laureates. —Elena Clavarino
