The German-Australian photographer Helmut Newton, born in 1920, worked in black and white yet created colorful visions. This exhibition focuses on the images he captured in the French Riviera and Bordighera, Italy, places where he did fashion shoots and made portraits of “beautiful people.” Sharp, sensuous, filled with the leisure of wealth, the 280 photographs in “Newton, Riviera” provide a window into a glamorous life accessible to only a few. —Thalia Bonas
