“In times of crisis,” goes a line in the poem “To the Film Industry in Crisis,” by Frank O’Hara, “we must all decide again and again whom we love.” In a world suddenly caught in suspended animation, with illness lurking invisibly in the air, it is natural that many are pondering existence, fate, love, and life. This online exhibition asks the question, What is art for? A group of 20 artists reconsider the five facets of the world we inhabit: the everyday, mortality, animality, globalization, and information. —E.C.
