A maverick is “an unorthodox or independent-minded person,” and here we have three: violinists Nicolas Kendall and Charles Yang, and Ranaan Meyer on the double bass. They call themselves Time For Three (TF3), and they describe their music as standing at “the busy intersection of Americana, modern pop, and classical.” All three sing too, so the fusion is complete. —L.J.
