Lisha Bai

Lisha Bai and her window installation at Hermès Madison Avenue.

706 Madison Ave, New York, NY 10065

In the art world, quilting is having a moment and Lisha Bai is part of it. Using bright colors and prismatic planes, the textile artist constructs images of light and landscapes, often seen through the frame of a window. Bai’s work, inspired by bojagi and Gee’s Bend quilts, reflects her experience as a Korean-American raised in Alabama. Her work is currently on view along Madison Avenue, in an Hermès window, where she designed a custom village using items from the brand. —Gracie Wiener
