You’ve Got Mail, a 1998 romantic comedy starring Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks, is still so popular that The New York Times recently called it “The Last Great Rom-Com.” Almost three decades later, Delia Ephron, who co-wrote the screenplay with her older sister Nora Ephron, remains an ardent lover of the romance genre. Her new play, Left on Tenth, directed by the Tony-winning Susan Stroman, is based on her 2022 memoir of the same title. The main character—Delia!—is a novelist, the screenwriter of You’ve Got Mail, and newly widowed. When she unexpectedly reconnects with a man from her past, she finds herself at the center of her own late-in-life love story. The production stars Julianna Margulies and Peter Gallagher. —Jeanne Malle
