More than two centuries after Marie-Antoinette became the last queen of France, the designer Valentino referred to Countess Jacqueline de Ribes, the French aristocrat and style legend, as “The Last Queen of Paris.” Now, the collection de Ribes carefully curated alongside her late husband, Èdouard, goes on sale at Sotheby’s, in Paris. Highlights from the collection, which comprises sculpture, furniture, and works of art from the 17th to 19th centuries, include several paintings originating in ownership from Marie-Antoinette herself. —J.V.
