Karine Laval: The Great Escape—Pictures of My Garden in Quarantine

Streaming on Vimeo

During these homebound days, artist Karine Laval has allowed her garden to speak. Using her home Epson, Laval prints out technicolor photographs of blooming flowers and pins them to her garden fence. The printouts are left to the wrath of the elements—soaked by torrential rain, scorched by hot summer sun, torn by gusts of wind. Laval’s purpose is to let the works reflect the instability, and vulnerability, that is at large in the world today. —E.C.
