Cult of Body & Soul

“It was so incestuous and culty and wild and fabulous,” says a former SoulCycle trainer in a new, seven-part podcast about the hit fitness company. Founded in 2006, the company attracted the likes of Kelly Ripa and Katie Couric to its candlelit, high-energy sessions. Behind closed doors, however, the culture was rocky from the start, with co-founder Ruth Zuckerman exiting under mysterious conditions in 2009 and instructors imbibing in a drug-heavy party culture.
