Jenny Holzer is a conceptual artist known for language-based work. “I used language,” she has said, “because I wanted to offer content that people—not necessarily art people—could understand.” Her truisms and commentaries have graced posters, walls, T-shirts, just about anything and everything. They also take the form of light projections. This season Tarmak 22 in the Gstaad-Saanen Airport hosts a Holzer exhibition. Meanwhile—come February, at nightfall—Holzer’s text installations will illuminate the opulent Gstaad Palace. —E.C.
