A New York night hosted by the D.J. Stretch Armstrong is AIR MAIL-approved. After all, didn’t he hit the decks at our 2023 Cannes Film Festival party, attended by Martin Scorsese, Robert De Niro, Sting, Scarlett Johansson, Leonardo DiCaprio, and a bunch of very cool others? Outside warm summer nights in Antibes, Armstrong can be found in New York, specifically at Nine Orchard, where he began a jazz residency last year. Every week, a musician comes to perform at the Lower East Side hotel, and is then followed by a mix of songs selected by Armstrong himself. The vocalist and composer Georgia Heers, who will soon be releasing her debut album, is opening the 2026 season. Trained at Oberlin College and at Juilliard, she’s sung at Dizzy’s and the Kennedy Center, and recently appeared in George Clooney’s Broadway production of Good Night, and Good Luck. —Jeanne Malle
