The French artist Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster has long been a science fiction buff. Using video projection and photography, she creates immersive spatial environments. Fourteen years ago, in 2008, Gonzalez-Foerster took over the Tate Modern’s Turbine Hall, where she reimagined London 50 years into the future—it was a city drenched in constant rain. Returning to the British capital with Alienarium 5, Gonzalez-Foerster ponders possible encounters with alien species. Would they like us? What if they were in love with us? —Elena Clavarino
