The Tehran of the 1970s, prior to the Iranian Revolution of 1979, was a place you could really dance. It had a vibrant, cosmopolitain disco scene. In honor of the hedonism they both grew up hearing about as kids, Arya Ghavamian and Mani Nilchiani created Disco Tehran, a dance party. The party originated in small apartment settings, but now tours the world, highlighting funky, opulent disco tracks from all parts of the globe. Disco Tehran travels to Mexico City for a party at Casa Versalles. —Sophie Kemp
