In 1998, the comedian Colin Quinn made his Off-Broadway debut in the one-man show Colin Quinn: An Irish Wake and also became the Weekend Update anchor on Saturday Night Live. While he stopped working at SNL in 2000, he’s continued creating one-man shows and this month sees his seventh, Colin Quinn: Small Talk, premiering at the Lucille Lortel Theatre. As a professional stand-up, Quinn has been forced to hone personality into an art form. The show revolves around his talent for making excellent chit-chat with everyone from family members to municipal employees. —Jensen Davis
