Olalekan Jeyifous, Shanty Megastructures Project (1 of 4), 2015.

Oct 15, 2022 – Jan 29, 2023
1315 Peachtree St NE, Atlanta, GA 30309, United States

Hip-hop began in the Bronx, where Black and Latino youths roamed the streets, singing to disco tracks and makeshift beats. Over the last five decades, it has been the dominant cultural movement of our time. This exhibition focuses on hip-hop’s urban origins, examining spaces, buildings, and environments that transmute hip-hop’s energy and spirit into architectural form. —Elena Clavarino
