The Abstract Expressionist sculptor Bruce Beasley was born in Los Angeles on the eve on W.W. II. He came to prominence in the generation after Henry Moore and David Smith, when in 1961 he was the youngest artist in history to be included in an exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Today, at 82, Beasley hasn’t slowed down. Sculptures in acrylic, stainless steel, and bronze—some of them new—grace the 42-acre campus of Grounds for Sculpture, capturing the breadth of Beasley’s vision over 60 years. —E.C.
