“It’s the voice of the city … a canvas for people who live or pass through, to speak out,” says graffiti artist Paul Insect, whose work appears in the exhibition “Beyond The Streets London” at the Saatchi Gallery. Curated by the graffiti historian Roger Gastman, it’s a rundown of key moments in street art and a survey of artists who led the movement, including photographer Janette Beckman and sculptor Felipe Panton. Having already made stops in Los Angeles in 2018 followed by New York in 2019, the show is the most extensive look ever at underground art and culture. It seeks to provoke questions of the gallery goer about what constitutes art in the first place.
