Daniil Trifonov plays Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 1 on January 30 and 31, and the Piano Concerto No. 5 on February 1 and 2. Both concertos share the program with two works by female prodigies: Lili Boulanger’s Of a Sad Evening, completed just months before her death in 1918, at only 24, and Louise Farrenc’s Symphony No. 2, written in 1845. —L.J.
