The pandemic has struck all kinds of institutions across New York City, but art institutions—facing budget shortfalls in addition to prolonged closures—have fared particularly badly. To help 14 pioneering non-profit organizations—among them the Artists Space, the Bronx Museum of the Arts, MoMA PS1, and the New Museum—a number of the world’s foremost artists are committing the proceeds from dozens of works to a fundraising effort. These paintings, sculptures, and installations will make a direct contribution toward supporting the city’s unique cultural heritage. The available art can be viewed online or in person. —E.C.
