Karole Armitage, who began her choreographic career with a spiky, high-art attitude and killer pointes, was quickly dubbed the “punk ballerina.” Thirty years on she is one of our most thoughtful dance-makers. In the dreamlike You Took a Part of Me—which sold out its Japan Society run last April—Armitage uses Noh theater conventions to explore a complicated love relationship. This encore engagement gives us another chance to see it. —L.J.
