In 1965, Bob Dylan surprised his audience at the Newport Folk Festival when he plugged in his guitar and went electric. Recently, the 83-year-old artist, who values his time away from the spotlight more than he does in it, gave everyone another surprise: he shared nothing but praise for James Mangold’s biopic A Complete Unknown. Starring Timothée Chalamet as the young Dylan, the movie begins with his arrival in New York City, fresh from Minnesota in 1961, and follows his meteoric rise to that controversial electric moment in 1965. —Carolina de Armas
