Ever since it was established in 2004, the Fall for Dance Festival has been a signal autumn event in Manhattan. Presented by the New York City Center, it brings together cutting-edge, emerging, and established artists from all forms of dance, which means it’s a great sampler of the current scene. This year’s Fall for Dance has five different programs. Among the offerings are works by choreographers who have recently stormed the spotlight: Crystal Pite, Caleb Teicher, and Bobbi Jene Smith. Companies on the roster are the Sergio Bernal Dance Company, the Houston Ballet, the Limón Dance Company, the Birmingham Royal Ballet, Grupo Corpo, and the Gibney Company. Check out the schedule on the festival Web site. Tickets are reasonably priced at $20 (plus fees). —Laura Jacobs
