“When women thrive,” says Cyrille Vigneron, C.E.O. of Cartier, “humanity thrives.” Which is why, 15 years ago, the company founded the Cartier Women’s Initiative. Since 2006, the annual entrepreneurship program has supported businesses founded and led by females—visionaries who are rising to the pressing challenges of today and tomorrow. To celebrate the Initiative’s 15th anniversary, a concert in Dubai led by Simone Menezes offers a program of Debussy, Glass, Villa-Lobos, and Brahms. It opens with the overture of Tchaikovsky’s Serenade for Strings, op. 48, the music that choreographer George Balanchine filled with 17 powerful women in ice-blue tulle, gathered in the moonlight. After the 20-minute concert, the program continues with the 22-minute Impact Awards Ceremony, in which 9 awardees are honored for their work toward saving the environment, improving lives, and creating opportunities. We’re all invited to live stream the concert and ceremony. —Elena Clavarino
