It only took one talented team, a caffeine-fueled all-nighter, and a top-notch supplier of customized beach balls to create a luxurious emporium of Ferragamo at Topping Rose House, in Bridgehampton. To celebrate, Daniella Vitale, the CEO of Ferragamo USA, and Linda Wells, the editor of Air Mail Look, invited the East End’s most stylish to dinner.

Most, if not all, guests owed at least some of their glow to Jones Road, the latest makeup line from Bobbi Brown, who took her seat in the candlelit barn next to Wells. Katie Couric had recently returned from a vacation in France with her two daughters, and she was delighted to report that they only had one knock-down, drag-out fight.
Mark Guiducci, the new global editorial director of Vanity Fair, arrived with Derek Blasberg. Don Lemon, looking especially stylish, proudly confessed that his look was by Zara.

Eric Ripert, who arrived with his wife, Sandra, was not able to participate in any conversations about the new season of The Bear because, he explained, he isn’t down with the dysfunction. Also, he noted, the kitchen staff in most restaurants does not address one another as “chef.” But he gave his parmesan-crusted chicken, a signature of Topping Rose House’s executive chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten, a winning review. (The black bass with ginger, snow peas, and herbs was pretty spectacular, too.) Tom Freston received raves of his own from those who’ve read advance galleys of his new memoir, Unplugged: Adventures from MTV to Timbuktu.

There was a frenzy of enthusiasm for Ferragamo’s new sunglasses, which were handed out as party favors. Couric coaxed Carey Lowell into a pair of cat-eyes. Izak Senbahar, who owns The Mark Hotel, among other New York properties, did an impression of Aristotle Onassis in his.
As the evening drew to a close, Wells thanked the popular crowd for coming, given the fullness of their dance cards. Especially, she said, when they “could have been waiting in line at the Sagaponack General Store or fighting for a spot in Pilates.”
