D.S. & Durga: Rose Pacific
It’s been decades since I’ve visited San Ysidro Ranch, the hideaway in Montecito, but I still remember the garden’s abundance of roses. The new scent from D.S. & Durga, Rose Pacific, brings it all back. It’s a mix of classic rose with a West Coast flavor: touches of apricot, avocado, sea spray, and poppies. It’s slightly sweet, but not cloyingly so. And it captures that moment in the garden at dusk when the temperature dips and the air is scented and full of promise. ($225, dsanddurga.com)

Shark: The Chill Pill
Weatherwise, New York and London traded places in May, with New York hovering in the 60s and London reaching a scorching 90 degrees. At some point that will reverse, and when it does, I’ll be tossing the Shark Chill Pill into my tote. It functions as a personal air conditioner for the heat-intolerant, which describes me. Imagine sitting at Centre Court as cool and unruffled as Princess Kate, who clearly would never be caught dead pointing a fan at her face. She also won’t be taking the subway this summer, but I will, and the Chill Pill will get me through without turning me into a puddle. It has a fan with 10 speed settings, a cooling plate, and a mist that evaporates quickly. I plan to sail through the season without breaking a sweat. ($150, sharkninja.com)
