SkinCeuticals: P-TIOX Cream
Ever since Botox was injected into a wrinkle in the 1990s and approved by the F.D.A. in 2002, the makers of skin-care products have wanted in on the action. StriVectin even suggested the superiority of its SD cream—originally marketed for stretch marks—with the tagline “Better than Botox?” That question mark kept it safe from accusations of false advertising. Now SkinCeuticals is introducing a cream that claims to help extend the lifespan of a neurotoxin injection. The P-TIOX Cream contains a peptide complex that, according to the company, helps relax expression lines, along with niacinamide to improve skin clarity and texture, and a salicylic-acid derivative to reduce oil production. Better than Botox? Probably not. Helpful companion? Sounds about right. ($150, skinceuticals.com)

Loewe: Pistachio Candle
Everyone has gone mad for pistachios—and with good reason. The nut is loaded with protein, fiber, healthy fats, and prebiotics, and contains, surprisingly, more melatonin than almost any other food. Perfumers have been indulging in pistachios, too, drawn to their creamy, sweet appeal. Close your eyes and inhale Loewe’s new Pistachio candle, and you might believe you’ve stumbled into Giolitti in Rome. That scent doesn’t come from the nut itself; it’s constructed from almond, vanilla, and green notes. The Loewe candle is housed in a handsome ceramic vessel, “like a piece of art that you can have in your living room,” says Loewe perfumer Núria Cruelles. ($130, loewe.com)
