Victoria Beckham Beauty: Colour Wash Bronze Water Tint

Bronzing season is almost upon us, and you’ll want to be prepared with a new creation from Victoria Beckham, who knows her way around a bronzer. This one is entirely unlike the usual powder or cream. It looks as if a serum collided with a furniture stain and was poured into a dropper bottle. Puzzling, and a little intimidating. But this watery fluid takes sheerness to a new level, adding no texture whatsoever to the skin. Dot it on the cheekbones, the bridge of the nose, the chin, and along the hairline—in other words, where the sun would hit it but you wouldn’t dare. ($46, victoriabeckhambeauty.com)

Sophie Carbonari Signature Facial

I am not a big facial person, partly because I get too antsy, partly because I rarely see a dramatic before-and-after. However, I am a big fan of Sophie Carbonari, the Parisian facialist who does something with her fingers that’s both bizarre and magical. She combines lymphatic drainage, Ayurveda, and kobido techniques, pinching and tapping the face to enhance the circulation and reduce inflammation. When she focuses on the fascias to release tension, you’ll hear a soft cracking like something popping just under the skin. About eight hours after emerging, you’ll notice less puffiness, less stress, and more happiness, which is Sophie’s special contribution. She’s based in Paris at the Palais Royal but does residencies in New York and London. ($1,500; sophiecarbonari.com)
