Ommage Beauty
I’m a fool for a pretty package, and Lara Worthington’s new three-product makeup line, Ommage, is making me a little lightheaded. As an Australian model, Worthington knows the upside of beauty. But rather than deliver her lipstick, face tint, and makeup brush in gold or glittery tubes and jars, she created glossy cases in celadon, oxblood red, and silver that look slightly smashed and dented. The sculptural pieces hold makeup that’s lightweight and accessible: the tinted cream is lighter than the usual foundation, intended to be applied with the buffer brush or your fingers. The lipsticks start out slightly sheer and, with several coats, build to a more substantial intensity. And the buffing brush works with any foundation, not just Worthington’s own. Use them with this warning: they may make you weak. (Starting at $32, ommage.com)

Hermès: Nourishing Lip Care Mask
There is ChapStick and there is Aquaphor, and both do a respectable job of protecting and soothing chapped lips. But no one would call them elegant. That’s where Hermès’s Nourishing Lip Care Mask comes in. The balm is made of shea butter, a hyaluronic-acid complex, sesame-seed extract, ceramides, and astaxanthin, a natural pigment that’s rich in antioxidants. The house’s perfumer, Christine Nagel, created a fragrance for the mask from herbs and sandalwood, and designer Pierre Hardy fashioned a frosted jar topped with a gold Hermès emblem. He also added a little silicone-tipped applicator with a lacquered wood handle, because dipping your finger in is so gauche. Sure, you could slap on any random balm, but why not indulge yourself with something more refined? ($100, hermès.com )
