Maison Beaux
Amber Valletta, the model, actor, and environmentalist, met Teddy Charles, the French hairstylist, on an Allure shoot in 2013. Now the couple has cooked up a line, with Charles providing the hair expertise and Valletta weighing in on the sustainability of the ingredients and packaging. The result is Maison Beaux, a luxurious collection of shampoo, conditioner, mask, and styling products in recyclable aluminum cans and biodegradable jars. What struck me first was the scent of orange blossom, sweet almond, and musk, created by the perfumer Jérôme Epinette. Le Ultimate Mask delivers peptides in an airy cream, but I’m especially fond of Le Voluptuous, a spray that adds volume without coating the hair with heavy polymers. (from $42, maisonbeaux.com)

Le Labo: Concrete Home Diffuser
A reed fragrance diffuser is so 2008; scented candles are a dime a dozen. But a polished-concrete diffuser with a light bulb? That’s an entirely different animal. Le Labo’s new contraption looks like a sculptural object from a different era. Rather than heating or diluting the fragrance oil, the diffuser emits a fine mist of Santal 26 through a nebulizer. As it pulses, an Edison bulb brightens and dims to mirror the intensity of the scent. It’s strange, hypnotic, and wonderful. ($950, lelabofragrances.com)
