Laila Gohar takes food for thought to a whole other level. The Egyptian-born, New York–based artist and designer uses food as her medium, creating wondrous tablescapes, sculptures, and, in the case of this year’s Salone del Mobile in Milan, even a carousel. Having worked with brands from Prada and Comme des Garçons to Hermès, Chanel, and Simone Rocha, Gohar has made a career of bringing the worlds of food and fashion together. Just in time for this week’s culinary issue, she sits in DRESS CODE’s Haute Seat.
First impression: One that leaves you wanting more.
Scent: None. Clean from the shower with hair smelling of Herbal Essences conditioner for some 90s nostalgia.
Sunglasses: The Bottega Veneta Havana (BV1249S) pair that I recently lost.
Pajamas: Charvet silk robe in red.
Workout outfit: I hate leggings so, not that …
