The indomitable Tom Ford—whom we at AIR MAIL call Texas’s Lone Star—stepped down from fashion three years ago (three years too many!) after a glorious 35-year run. He first brought his Midas touch to Gucci and Yves Saint Laurent during the 90s and noughties. And it wasn’t long before his other ventures—an eponymous luxury brand, a powerhouse fragrance, and critically acclaimed films starring the likes of Colin Firth and Amy Adams—turned to gold. Now working on his third film, an adaptation of Anne Rice’s 1982 novel, Cry to Heaven, featuring Adele in her acting debut, the multi-hyphenate returns to the fashion world, if only briefly, to sit in Dress Code’s Haute Seat.
