As a child, June Van Thillo used to sell necklaces and rings made out of beads and fake pearls at the Belgian seaside with her friends. “After that, I never really designed anything else,” she says. “But I always loved being creatively stimulated.” Hobbies such as painting, cooking, and ceramics filled the Antwerp native’s spare time, but it was writing that stuck.

It wasn’t until she interned at Numéro magazine in Paris and graduated from journalism school at Columbia University that she thought of designing again, only this time she’d combine it with her love of the written word. The result? The TwentyFour Six—a jewelry and objets d’art brand that interviews collaborators before creating unique, handmade items with them. “The idea is to always translate their story into an object,” Van Thillo explains.
