It may sound a bit antiquated now, but once upon a time, New York City was hailed as the “Wonder City.” The nickname was used by marketing agents when travel to the city began to boom in the late–19th century. The Poster House’s newest exhibition explores how steamship and airline posters sold the Wonder City to travelers throughout the 20th century. The retro graphics from TWA, American Airlines, and many more have such charm, you may want to grab your own Mad Men-esque prints in the gift shop. —Lucy Horowitz
