Stacy is the weather girl at a small television station in central California. She’s happy and polished, her hair perfectly arranged. But the reality is messy. Let’s just say it’s not water in that bottle she carries everywhere. When Stacy is assigned to cover a house fire that kills an entire family, it sparks a downward spiral of spectacular self-destruction. That’s the premise of Weather Girl, a one-woman dark comedy by Brian Watkins that premiered in 2024, at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Starring Julia McDermott and directed by Tyne Rafaeli, it’s produced by the brilliant minds behind Fleabag and Baby Reindeer. —Jeanne Malle
