Modest dressing has become a fashion thing, and it’s gaining momentum in secular societies, where women are fed up with trends that objectify. It is driven, however, by pious Muslim, Jewish, Druze, and Christian women, whose silhouettes are similarly layered and draped. “Veiled Women in the Holy Land” looks at their non-verbal dialogue, and also addresses the semiotic messaging of hip, young women who choose to wrap and drape. —L.J.
