The Winter Show

Streaming on The Winter Show

Typically held at the Park Avenue Armory, The Winter Show—now 67 years old—has gone virtual. Widely considered the crème de la crème of America’s art, antiques, and design fairs, this year’s show sees 60 exhibitors presenting works that span 5,000 years. Highlights include Makeup (Dressing Room), 1952, an egg tempura on hardboard by the acclaimed Black artist Jacob Lawrence, and The Judgement of Paris, a 16th-century oil on panel by Lucas Cranach the Elder. Three spectacular Audubon aquatint engravings with original hand-coloring—Great Northern Diver (Common Loon), Wood Duck, and Long-billed Curlew—are offered by the Arader gallery. As usual, exhibitor talks and panel discussions are scheduled throughout. To watch leading curators, scholars, collectors, and designers discuss their favorite treasures, register on the Web site of The Winter Show. —E.C.
