Mike Birbiglia’s latest comedy is about death. In his Broadway solo show, which begins with a doctor’s appointment, the enemy is his aging body. Ordered to exercise, Birbiglia begins swimming laps at the Y.M.C.A. He means to turn his “drowner’s body” into a “swimmer’s body.” Directed by his collaborator, Seth Barrish, the play makes its New York debut at Lincoln Center. —Jensen Davis
