Les Lalanne—the late French couple Claude and François-Xavier Lalanne—are famous for their fanciful yet elegant sculptures of animals and botanicals. A selection of their larger works are now finding green space at the Chateau de Versailles, dispersed among the gorgeous grounds in meticulously crafted arrangements. Just as Marie Antoinette used the palace gardens as an escape from the difficulties of court life, this exhibition allows viewers an escape into the whimsical world of Les Lalanne. It’s the largest outdoor showing of the duo’s work to date. —Sabina Vitale
