The Idaho Murders: College Nightmare

The victims, clockwise from top left: Madison Mogen, Ethan Chapin, Xana Kernodle, and Kaylee Goncalves.

In November 2022, the close-knit world of Moscow, Idaho, was thrown into chaos when four university students—Madison Mogen, Kaylee Goncalves, Ethan Chapin, and Xana Kernodle—were found murdered in their off-campus rental. The killer remained unknown for weeks and the case was followed across the nation. The intense coverage has included documentaries from Peacock and Prime Video, and an 11-part investigation by AIR MAIL contributor Howard Blum. Now, even as Bryan Kohlberger seeks to void his guilty plea, a new Netflix docuseries seeks to understand why he committed such a violent act. In three episodes, access to body-cam police footage as well as forensic evidence reveals new details about the killings. The series takes care to remember the victims and the lives they lived. —Maggie Turner
