Inspired by the work of Noël Coward and set in 1923 England, The Cottage is a naughty comedy about unfaithful couples. Written by Sandy Rustin, an American infatuated with the English, the plot hinges on a decision made by Sylvia Van Kipnis: she’s going to reveal her long extramarital affair with Beau to both her husband and Beau’s wife. The pas de quatre happens in a country house—antics ensue. Seinfeld’s Jason Alexander directs the show’s Broadway debut. —Jensen Davis
