Sophie Taeuber-Arp once said, “the wish to produce beautiful things—when that wish is true and profound—falls together with [man’s] striving for perfection.” A true perfectionist, Taeuber-Arp was known to seek beauty in all her practices, whether as an artist, sculptor, dancer, writer, or multimedia designer. She is most famous, however, as a pinnacle of the avant-garde. Rejecting hierarchy, she championed the incorporation of art into daily life.
