The Iranian-born, U.S.-based artist Shirin Neshat rose to prominence with work that addressed the ideological struggle between feminism and Iran’s religious values. Her vision, however, has turned westward. “We are seeing a reshuffling of the cards of power and its players,” Neshat says, “With the rise of white supremacy and the present threat against immigrants, I now turn my lens towards my host country, America. This new series of work investigates how these changes ultimately rupture individual lives.” The solo show “Land of Dreams” includes 100 photographs and a two-channel film installation. —E.C.
