After a two year hiatus, the Salone del Mobile is returning to Milan for the fair’s 60th anniversary. It’s the most anticipated event of the year, and 2,000 exhibitors are flocking to the city to showcase the latest in furniture design. This year’s theme is environmental and social well-being: 600 young designers are “designing for our future selves.” Highlights include a “design with nature” installation by the renowned architect Mario Cucinella. Dedicated to sustainable home living, it’s a monumental project that occupies 15,000 square feet. —Elena Clavarino
